Wow, how perceptive she is

We spent the day at my mom's house yesterday, because the Buckeyes were on (go Bucks!). Later on in the day, Libby was standing by the coffee table and looking at a mail flyer, and held it up to my mom and said, "Mamaw, this is John McCain." She had to repeat herself once so we could make sure that was what she said, and sure enough it was. She was holding a flyer of John McCain. We have never ever told her anything about him for her to know that (nor Barack Obama, for that matter). After we took the look of astonishment off our faces, I said, "Libby where did you see him?" She held up the flyer and said, "He's right here!" (duh, Mama) and I said, "Did you see him on TV?" and she said, "Yeah, he said 'I'm John McCain, and I apooped.'" (refering to, "I'm John McCain and I approve of this message"). We rolled into unbelieving laughter. I mean, she's not even 2 1/2! I don't have the TV on during the day, but Scott puts it on in the mornings while he and Libby wait for me and Hudson to get up. I still can't believe how amazingly perceptive she is. Unbelievable. So, pay attention to what your kiddos are paying attention to!

OMG Megan, that little Libby is so waaaay ahead of the game! That is seriously amazing--I mean, she is so little, and when you hear those things coming out of her mouth, it is just amazing!

No kidding, right? And get this, Jenny. That same day, my mom asked Libby if we went down to the festival (Sternwheeler), because we had gone down there Friday night. She said, "No, we went down to the old Dairy Queen." I am sure she picked up on that by listening to me tell and retell the story about the lady who stalked you and me while we were out the other day, down by the old Dairy Queen. We have had so many, "Did she just say that?" moments this weekend!

So funny!! Don't you just love it? Such a reminder that they have minds of their own and they are paying attention. It was always funny when my kids were small and we were going somewhere in the car and I would take a different street than normal and they would say "why are you going this way, this isn't right!"

Dawn, I know what you mean! It's funny how they keep track of where they are and where they are going by their few out the window. Libby will tell me if she thinks I am going the wrong way. I was going to Belpre a while back and Libby asked me if we were going to the chiropractor, because we started out going that way (her office is at the end of 550).

Hi qtpies7! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, my Libby has me laughing at least once a day. I am in awe of her, really.
